I am looking for any information regarding my maternal grandmother's family. My grandmother was born Catherine Grace White in June of 1894 to John Edward White and Mary Margaret? Gallagher. GGrandparents were married in Bloomington⁄Normal in 1890. I have been told that they were both from "Lace Curtain" Irish families, though John's mother did not believe that his new wife was good enough. In total, John and Mary had four children; Menard, Justina, Catherine, and De Chantel. I know that 3 of my great-grandmother's aunts were catholic nuns, and that she was forced to live with them part of her childhood. John E. White was b. 1862 in Bloomington-d.Chicago, IL in 1947, Mary was born in 1867 in Bloomington (lied about her age on all of her children's birth certificates, therefore her tombstone states the year 1875 as her birth year) she died in Chicago, Il in 1952. I have heard several stories about my great grandmother and how crazy she was, and how she insisted on going to dances with her son as her date, so she could supposedly have the life she didn't get a chance to have before she was married. All of their children came to Chicago, Il with her when she tried to leave her husband in about 1915. If any of this stuff sounds familiar in any way please contact me.

I am seeking information on James and Sarah Wright who lived in Mahomet, Champaign County according to the 1850 Federal census. James listed himself as aged 45 years and having been born in Tennessee. Sarah listed herself as aged 41 and having been born in Indiana. I believe they were married in Spencer County, Indiana before 1827 and moved to Champaign County between 1844 and 1847 (based on the ages of the children listed on the census.

There my be a familial connection with Isaac and Matilda Wright (listed on the 1860 census) as one of James' and Sally's sons Hardin was working as a farm laborer for Isaac.

I have been successful in following child Harrison (my great great grandfather) but have hit a brick wall in finding information on James' and Sally's parents. Any assistance would be appreciated.
