This photo was submitted by Lise Embley. She indicates: "This photo comes from the collection of my grandfather, Marion Taylor Bird, a grandson of Henry Hartrick and Nancy Emily Taylor Hartrick. I read somewhere that Chambers School was either on Hartrick property, or adjacent to it. The Hartricks were fairly prosperous, and had strong opinions about education. All of their children (sons AND daughters) received a college education. My great-grandmother, Dinchen Clara Hartrick who is shown in the Chambers Schol picture at age 16, received a full academic scholarship to the University of Illinois, and met her husband, Frederick Joel Bird, in an engineering mathematics class there in 1896.
