I am looking to discover more about my GG-Grandmothers family. Her name is Catherine Reagan. She was born in Ireland ~ 1846. Her family lived in Coles Co., the girls were all married at Immaculate Conception Church in Mattoon. Catherine m Martin Scheurich in 1862. Her sisters married Hugh McGurty and John McCormick. I have located my gg-grandfather, Michael Redmond (listed as Redman) and some of his children in the 1870 US Census for Crittenden Township, Champaign County, IL. Prior to that they were in the Marion County, OH, and Wyandot County, OH, censuses in previous census years. The family consists of Michael Redmond, wife Martha Justice Redmond, and children: Robert S., George F., Louisa, Michael, Burt, Martha, Henry and two smaller unnamed children - based on obituaries located. Between 1860 and 1870, the wife, Martha, and the smaller children seem to disappear. Is it possible that they died in Champaign County and are buried there? I would appreciate it if someone could look up these folks on cemetery listings in the Crittenden Township area and let me know if any are found. I am aware that Robert S. Redmond is found in the 1880 US Census with a wife, Ellen, and several children. Louisa Redmond married William S. Eoff and had children. Would be interested in contact with any of these families. I am looking for information about Barbara Ellen (Coon) Reed who was married to William Wesley Reed. The only information I have about either of them is that she is supposed to be buried in Rantoul. I would guess that she was born between 1850 and 1870 so it is quite likely that there was an obituary printed for either or both of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I descend from many of the very earliest IL families: I need help with anyone in IL who may have one piece of paper that we all need! The entire web notes that Joel Rice was the son of Ebenezer Rice and Ruth Henrietta Rice (Eveleth). I need to find ONE paper that states that Ruth (Eveleth) Rice was the mother of Joel Rice (1820, White IL and brother of Abel Rice both sons of Ebenezer Rice, Sr.)! I need an old letter! A Bible page!! a record of ANY kind that says that Ruth was Henrietta Eveleth! There are so may Rices in IL that descend from the very early Joel Rice, Abel Rice, Martha Patsy Rice (Moore), Ebenezer Rice, Jr. (Caty Luckey-Baldridge), Sarah Sally Rice Mason, siblings that also are related to cousins Wright, Eveleth, Farringtons who moved from the early MA immigrants  to VT to IL& maybe just ONE person who is alive in IL or the world today has some documentation that proves that Ruth Eveleth and Henrietta Rice  are the same woman& Please post this as many folks may read this and have that ONE piece of documentation that we all need to prove our descent from Ruth Eveleth-Rice!

Searching for John H. York born 1855, near Urbana, Champaign Co., IL. Parents Jame York and Sarah Grand, came from Surry Co. NC. John H. York came to Kaufman Co. TX. and married Martha C. Rye and had five children. Nathan Wallace, Frances, Olive, Sarah and Johnny Lonzo. Latter left Martha and went back to Champaigh Co., Ill. and married childhood sweetheart and had 12 more children.
