I am searching for every Ferdinandsen connected to Champaign ⁄ Urbana. My G-Grandfather Christian Carl Ferdinandsen emigrated with his hole family from Denmark to USA in 1891. He and his family ended up in Champaign Urbana. The family comprised his wife Sidse Marie born Sorensen and at least 10 children. Christian is said to have become the first selling gardener in Champaign. He had greenhouses and sold trees, bushes etc. Christian was born December 17, 1848 and died March 10, 1923. His death and burial is mentioned in an article in "The Urbana Christian" dated April 5, 1923. At his death his wife continued to live at 302 South Cottage Grove. His wife died July 10, 1943. Any help would be highly appreciated.

I am searching for information on Benjamin Flahart. Benjamin was in the 107th Infantry during the Civil War. Then he married Assenath Cook 29 Jan 1874, and had a son, Hubert, that was born in Champaign on August 9, 1881. A couple of years later, Benjamin moved the family to White Lake, South Dakota.

Looking for info on George Curtis Moore (Curt) who married Sallie Fleming. He died in 1943, her death is unknown to me. The had a son and daughter who must have died young. They lived in the Sidney area. I think she worked at the bank. Anyone with information PLEASE contact me. I have been looking for a long time. He died in Champaign Co. Not sure about her. Would like to know about them and what happened to the children. Curt is buried in Sidell. Is Sallie? She had a brother Harry in Allerton. Sons name was Harry(?) and daughter Opal. Please help.

BLACKBURN, Lucy Ann - I am researching my gggaunt, who was born in 1859 in LaFargeville, Jefferson County, NY. The family moved to Verona, Dane County, WI in 1869. She married Myron Blackburn on Jan 1, 1877 in Verona. From family obituaries, she has lived in Mount Vernon, Jefferson County, IL. In my gggrandmother's (Pauline Florey) obituary for 1944, Lucy is mentioned as living in Champaign.

Looking for information on the family of Thomas FOREMAN b. KY in 1800 and wife Mississippi CASOLINE⁄CASTERLINE b. 1803 in Madison County, Illinois. Thomas and wife moved to Champaign County in 1850. Their daughters Margaret J [married Carmi GOODRICH, lived in DeWitt County IL] and Susan [married Z.D. CANTRELL and lived in DeWitt County IL. Son Benjamin lived in Champaign County in St. Joseph Township [wife Sarah], son John lived in McLean County, daughter Martha married George H CARTER in Champaign Co 1861, daughter Nancy married James W. UMBENHOUR in Champaign County 1860. Other children on the 1870 census were son Deliverance, daughter Ellen, and son Amos. Appreciate any help with this family.

FOULKE ROSS married a second time to MARK ANTHONY ALLEN b.abt 1867 Honey Creek, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. The date of this second marriage was Dec 16, 1912 in Philo, Champaign Co, Illinois. Witnesses were TAYLOR ROSS, AND MRS. SARAH A. ROSS. Can anyone tell me if any of these people were on the 1910 census? Burial for Frank Ross? Taylor Ross? Thanks.

I'm looking for a info on Dewitt Clinton Freeman in Champaign, Illinois. He married Hulda C. Burke on April 25,1895. Their daughter Edna Vandora Freeman is my grand-mother. Dewitt Clinton Freeman was born in Michigan and his parents were: Edgar Freeman and Anna Halsted. They came from Michigan and settled in Champaign, Illinois..Dewitt Clinton Freeman was married Twice..I do not know who he married the first time around. I am looking for information on a Family by the name of Freeman that resided in Champaign Co. Champaign⁄Urbana area in the 1890s. Wilhelmina L. Freeman (known as Louise or Minnie) married John A. Newcomb on 12-13-1892. Minnies brother George married Bessie Newcomb⁄Newcombe on 1-9-1896 and Bessies apparently remarried to a Fred Cramer on 10-16-1900. Another sibling Ada H. Freeman was married also in the Champaign area to William H. Rauch on 10-30-1893. The listing in the Illinois Marriage Index lists Ada as Alda H. Furman, which is incorrect. The mother of these 3 Freeman children was Hester (Cooper) Freeman wife of Henry C. Freeman. The Freeman family moved westward from New York to Illinois. Hester signed the marriage application for Ada so I believe the Father had died in either NY or IL before 1893. Another daughter Mary Eleanor Freeman married while they were still in NY, but came to Illinois with her husband John Michael Bausch and settled in the same area as her family.
