My descendants lived in Champaign County, Illinois from 1834 to 1856. They were William H. and Nancy Ann (Adkins) Adams. They moved to Champaign County from Jackson County, Ohio with two young children. During their twenty-two years in Illinois, ten more children were born.

I've tried to locate them in the 1840's census on your website and on the census on ancestry.com. I can find them in the 1850's census, but can't seem to locate them on the 1840's census.

Do you have any information on them? William was originally born in Ohio on December 1, 1809 and Nancy on December 6, 1814. I'm trying to track down who William's parents were.

I am also researching Alberter (Alborter). My great great great grandparents apparently came over around 1853 from Bavaria, Germany. Cannot directly place martin or charles within this family, but I have not been able to get full names, ie , only first and last names. I have been concentrating only on my line. There were four childern who came over from Bavaria that I know about. Thomas(17), William(16), Joseph(14), and john(11). ages given are from 1860 census. John is definitely an Alberter, Joseph may have been a Switzler. Thomas and William were by his wife's first husband(Switzler). (I think). They were in Carroll TWP in 1860.

I am looking for Mary Evelyn Alexander born 10 Nov 1868 in Meigsville, Morgan County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Thomas Alexander and Margaret McCullough-Byers. After the death of Thomas in 1872, Margaret took her children and moved to Rantoul, Champaign County, Illinois where her brother James McCullough was living. Margaret moved with her children John M. Byers, Charles S. Byers, William Ellisworth Alexander, William G. Alexander, and Mary Evelyn Alexander. James Ellisworth Alexander married Ellen Cleary 18 Sep 1894 in Champaign County, Illinois. JAmes and Ellen moved to Ness City, Ness County, Kansas. I have been told that Mary Evelyn married a Harman. I would like to find more about both Mary Evelyn and William G. Alexander. Would love to hear from anyone knowing anything about this family.

Have newspaper article from 1898 telling of wedding of Frank Allen and Hattie Knights. Know that Hattie's parents were Luman and Jennie Knights,her brothers were Jesse,Rolla,and Charles. Her parents lived one mile south and two and one fourth miles west of Rantoul.Article mentions cousins Grace and Goldie Knights taking part in wedding. Looking for information on Mahala A. Anderson who was married to J. M. West. Mahala was the daughter of Harvey W. Anderson and Rachel. Mahala was born 1850 in Indiana. The family moved to Sidney, Champaign County, Illinois by 1865. Harvey and his wife left Sidney around 1882 and moved to Vernon County, Missouri. In 1892 when his wife died, Harvey returned to Sidney. He sold his Vernon County property to his daughter Mahala in October 1892.
