Looking for info on John Mallory, of Champaign County. He was born about 1792 in Virginia. He moved to Harrison Co, Kentucky, where he married Elizabeth Brownfield 5 May 1825. She died in 1830; John came to Champaign Co in 1832 with her parents. He married Mary Osborn 29 August 1833, then married Angeline Hildreth Howe on 15 August 1842. His older children inherited property from their Brownfield grandfather in 1838. In 1842, he was a candidate for Constable, and in 1846 he was elected Justice of the Peace. His widow Angeline died in 1860. He was then already dead, or he left the county with his children later the same year. He had children: Mary (c1838) md Hooper Morraine; Nancy (c1829) md John B. Hayes; James (c1830); Emma F. (c1835) md David Slider; Cornelia (c1837-1850); Verilla (c1839) md ... Morrison; Esseneth (1843-1855); Elizabeth Ann (1846-1909) md John J. Wilson; and Robert (c1849). The family seems to have left the county in 1860. I'd like to find out where they went. Elizabeth returned after 13 years and married a neighbor of her Howe half-brothers. I'm also looking for the parents of John Mallory, and further connections to all of these families.

I am trying to get some information on Jane McCarty and her son, Henry. Henry was born in Illinois in 1859, possibly September. He and his mom moved back to Tippecanoe County, Indiana soon after his birth. The 1860 census showed them living with John H. and Nancy Hill.
It is my belief that she was living with Sarah S., Elizabeth, and Catharine McCarty in Champaign County, Illinois at the time of Henry's birth. Jane McCarty was born in Ohio, but, showed up in Tippecanoe County, Indiana on the 1850 Census. I have found no proof that she was married at the time of Henry's birth. Thanks.

I am looking for information on Robert MOREHOUSE and his family, as shown in the 1870 census for Stanton, Champaigne County, Illinois. I think that this might be a match for the second husband of my ggg-grandmother, Eliza Jane KEY. Her first husband had died about 1848. Eliza married a Robert MOREHOUSE in Louisa County, Iowa, during 1849. In the 1850 census, they are shown with a son, Wilson MOREHOUSE, and the children from Eliza's first marriage. In the 1860 census for Louisa County, Iowa, Eliza has resumed the name MINCHER, and is living with her MINCHER children. There are no records of any MOREHOUSE having been buried in Louisa County. In the 1910 census, Eliza is listed as being the mother of 8 children, 5 of which were MINCHER and 3 must have been MOREHOUSE. Therefore, I am guessing that Eliza had three children with Robert MOREHOUSE, before Robert left her. From the 1850 census for Louisa County, Robert's place of birth is given as Indiana. This is a match for the Robert MOREHOUSE listed in the 1870 census for Champaigne county. I had found a listing for Robert and Wilson MOREHOUSE in an 1870⁄1871 directory for Champaigne county, which led me to the census. Listed in the 1870 census are: Robert, 40, farmer; Nancy, 33, keeping house; William, 16, attending school; Wilson, 25; Alice, 15, attending school; John, 4; Hallier?, 5; Frank, 6; Mary, 4; Joseph, 2 While these ages don't exactly agree with the 1850 census (Robert should be about 44, and Wilson about 21), these are reasonably close considering accuracy found in other censuses. Also curious is the fact that Alice and William seem to have been born between 1850 and 1860 - again, within line to have been Eliza's children. It appears that "Nancy" is a second wife in this census, with younger children of her own by Robert. Nancy, if her age is correct, would have been fairly young to have been the mother of Alice and William, and would not explain the large gap in the ages of the children given (Alice is 15, next is Frank, age 6). I have limited sources available, and couldn't find these individuals in any records of the 1880 era. I was curious if anyone had any information on this MOREHOUSE family between 1860 and 1880. Thank you.
