Herman Gosemeyer-Born 1867 in New Alsace, Indiana. He lived there until about 1886 then disappeared. I found him later in the 1900 Census in Champaign County, Illinois, Saddonis Township working as a laborer on the farm of Andre Amcil. Then nothing further. Any information would be much appreciated

Trying to find info on WILLIAM HEUSTON (HUESTON) born in Champaign Co. IL in the early - nid 1800's. Married ALMIRA HATCH (BARBER) and had sons: THEODORE, EBB, JEROME DEWITT. He apparently had several brothers (not sure about sisters) but we have been unsuccessful in tracking down names as yet. HILLYER FAMILY OF SAVOY, CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, ILL. Searching for descendants of William (1815-1904) Mary(Gumbs)HILLYER, Jr. (1818-1890),a son of William Sarah (Earwicker)HILLYER Sr.; who settled in Savoy, Champaign Township⁄County, Illinois in the 1850's where they raised a large family. The HILLYER family emigrated from Portsmouth, England in 1819, when William Jr. was 4 yrs. old. The family lived in Virginia, Maryland, New York, and Ohio, before moving to Illinois. William spent his last years as a farmer in Illinois, although he had been a successful portrait artist in New York City in his earlier years. John LAPCHESKA, born 12⁄1843 in PRU; had brother Charles, born 1848 in PRU. Charles married to Caroline (?); lived in Tolono, Champaign, IL in 1880; later lived in Lincoln, Lancaster, NE. Had children Ernst, Gracie, Martha and Helena, all born in the 1870s, mostly in Tolono. John (above) married Amelia HEIER before 1871 in Loeban, Sachsen, PRU. Amelia died 1880 in Tolono IL. Her mother Louise (1817-1901), was born in POMMERA. She married (2) John LEFF and had children Theodore, John, Rudolph, Leona and Theresa Hilme. All resided in Champaign Co, IL and NE (Thayer, Fillmore Douglas counties). John and Amelia had six children: Minnie, Lena, Frederich, Rudolph, Otto and Louis L. The first three born in Loeban, Sachsen, PRU; the others born in IL, probably Tolono. John married (2) Minnie BAGINSKI (1858-1942) and had eight more children: Edith, Marie, Anne, Frank, Augusta, Emma, William and Alma. All were born in Tolono, IL between 1882 and 1899. Alma LAPCHESKA married Mister POTTERFIELD and lived in Champaign IL into the 1980s. John worked for the railroad (Illinois Central?), and died in the Tolono railyards when he was struck by a locomotive.

Elias Marion MACKENZIE came to Urbana in the mid-1850's. He had married Mary Ann HILLYER in Cincinnati, OH. The MACKENZIES had a "compound" on University Avenue in Urbana near where the Best Western Urbana Lincoln Lodge now stands and close to Crystal Lake Park. My great-great grandfather, William R. McFarland, was born in Washington Co., OH in 1850. He married who I believe to be Mollie McDonald.
